A renewal inspection was initiated on January 25, 2023 and concluded on January 26, 2023. There were sixty-seven children present with eleven staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and five staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-A Description: Based on review and interview, facility did not ensure staff complete the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of beginning employment.
Evidence: The records for staff #3 (start date 8/15/2022), staff #4 (start date 9/13/2022) and staff #5 (start date 8/15/2022) did not have documentation of completing the VDOE-sponsored orientation training.
