Make sure staff are documenting children with persistent behavioral issues and steps take to address those issues.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today with the director, who was present with 24 preschoolers, ages ranging from 4 months to 4 years. Six staff were supervising the children. The inspection took place from11:40 am to 12: 55 pm. The inspector was able to observe lunch time which consisted of turkey sandwiches, pineapple, mixed vegetables and milk. Six children and three staff files were reviewed today. The area of non compliance is outlined on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-210-A-4-a Description: Based on a review of staff files and an interview with the director, it was determined that two staff did not have the 24 hours of lead teacher training within a month of become lead teachers.
Evidence:
Staff A became a lead teacher on 7/25/22 and staff B became lead teacher on 7/26/22 and neither had any of the 24 hours of lead teacher qualification training.Plan of Correction: We will review our records and document what lead teacher training they have and then add to that to make sure the lead teachers have the 24 hours of training in the designated areas.
