An investigation was begun in response to an allegation being received in our office regarding a lack of supervision. Based on multiple staff interviews, the preponderance of evidence does not support the allegation. The complaint is not valid.
The violation cited was found during the course of the investigation and was not part of the original complaint.
Additional information gathered during the course of this investigation relates to the exempt summer program; however, is not considered a violation for this program. The summer camp program has received an exemption from licensure based on the information provided to DOE regarding the age of children allowed to attend the program. An exemption may be applied for when: "A program where, by written policy given to and signed by a parent or guardian, school-age children are free to enter and leave the premises without permission." During the course of this investigation it was determined that at least one child under the age of school age (Date of Birth: 11/30/2018), did attend the summer program. This disqualifies the program for an exemption. As the summer program is not operational at this time, there is currently no conflict or issue. The summer program will need to conform to the exemption requirements or fall under the jurisdiction of a licensed program.
