Comments:
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted today. A total of 101 children with 14 staff were present. Observation of all occupied classrooms was made. Three classrooms were currently outside on the playground. Face to Name procedures were observed at transitions from the classroom to the playground. The center's electronic system of attendance and location of children were accurate. Staff and children were celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday. Today's theme was "crazy socks", both children and staff participated. A book reading competition was underway for each classroom and a graphing activity was on display to reflect the current number of books that have been read. Each classroom had artwork and projects on display that corresponded with the current lesson plan. Family trees were being assembled in classrooms and pictures of multicultural day was on display in the main hallway. The center was found well maintained and equipped with sufficient supplies, equipment and materials. Medications and topical ointments were onsite and reviewed for required labeling and authorizations. Only 1 new staff since the November inspection, the staff file and 4 additional staff files were reviewed. A total of 4 children's records were also reviewed. The previous violation from the last inspection was reviewed and corrective action was verified. This inspection occurred at approximately 10am and ended at 12:40pm.
