A monitoring inspection was conducted on 03/03/2023. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 2 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
In PreK Room #1 there were various cleaning materials in a cabinet that was unlocked and had the key in the lock.Plan of Correction: This was an oversight. Director will remind staff that all potentially hazardous substances are to be stored in a locked area and they key should not be accessible to children.
