An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the director on March 8, 2023 beginning at 9:15AM and ending at 12:00PM. There were 6 children, ages between 2 through 4 years old, in the care of 1 direct care staff. The children were observed playing with age appropriate toys. The children were also observed doing an art project with the teacher. Five children?s records were reviewed and in compliance. Three staff records were reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and battery-operated radio were observed and in compliance. There were no medications on site to be reviewed. The menu, daily attendance, and emergency drill log were reviewed. The most recent evacuation drill was documented as 2/6/23. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as 9/20/22. The most recent health inspection was dated June 16, 2022. The most recent fire inspection was dated February 28, 2023.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-C Description: Based on a review of three staff records, the facility failed to obtain and the results of a follow-up tuberculosis (tb) screening from staff members every two years as required. Evidence: Staff A's most recent tb results were dated 3/21/19. Staff B and staff C's most recent tb results were dated 1/30/20. Plan of Correction: The staff will get the tb screenings and the results will be placed in their records by March 18, 2023.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-A Description: Based on a review of three staff records, the facility failed to ensure that staff members completed 16 hours of annual training appropriate to the age of children in care. Evidence: Staff A, staff B, and staff C did not have documentation of training hours present in their staff records. Plan of Correction: The facility will look for training courses to complete hours online and in-person as soon as possible.
