A complaint inspection was initiated on 03/06/23 and concluded on 03/06/23. There were 38 children present with 9 staff supervising, and 2 office staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staffing and supervision, and staff qualifications and training. A total of 13 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 9:15am and concluded at 10:40am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on review of documentation and discussions with staff the center failed to ensure that all staff have a negative tuberculosis screening at the time of employment and before coming in contact with children.
Evidence:
Staff #7, hire date 05/26/21 and staff #10, hire date 03/01/23 are currently working with children and do not have a tuberculosis screening as required.Plan of Correction: The staff members will obtain a TB test or screening immediately for compliance. Moving forward a TB test or screening will be completed prior to working at the center to ensure future compliance.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-530-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on review of documentation and discussions with staff the center failed to ensure that one staff in each classroom is certified in CPR and FA.
Evidence:
On 3/6/23, during this complaint inspection, staff #6 and #12 were working in the "Tummies" classroom and neither had CPR and FA certification as required.
On 3/6/23 staff #2 was working alone in the "Tiny Tots" classroom and does not have CPR and FA as required.
It is required that one staff per classroom or area where children are present have current CPR and FA certification.Plan of Correction: All staff that did not have current certification in CPR and FA completed the on-line portion on 3/10/23 and have also completed the in person component on 3/13/23.
