A monitoring inspection was initiated on March 20, 2023 and concluded on March 21, 2023. There were twenty-five children present with two staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and two staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M Description: Based on interview and review, facility did not ensure there is a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions that is dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.
Evidence: Staff reported one child that attends the program with a food allergy. That child's information was not documented on the written list provided of all children's allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions. Evidence: The following was found during record review:
1. The record for child #3 (start date 1/3/23) did not have documentation of emergency contact addresses.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8 Description: Based on review, facility did not ensure there is a written care plan for each child diagnosed with a food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.
