Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M
Description: Based on observation, the center did not maintain children's allergies in a confidential manner.
Evidence:
In the Toddler and Infant classrooms notes containing children's name and allergy information were posted on walls and boards in plain view.

Plan of Correction: Although we had posted and covered our allergy list in the classroom, the teacher took an additional precaution to ensure the safety of the children by making a note of the allergies on the meal communication board for the floating teachers. We appreciate her efforts and concern for the well-being of the students. However, we understand that the allergies always need to be covered and will ensure to do so in the future.

The notes were removed immediately during the inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-P
Description: Based on record review, medication which had an expired authorization was not picked up the parent within 14 days.
Evidence:
Child 6's medication was present in the center on the date of inspection. The authorization form to administer the medication expired on 3/8/2023.

Plan of Correction: The medication will be sent home with the child's parent until a new authorization form is provided.
