A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated and concluded on April 11, 2023. There were 15 children present with 4 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1 Description: Based on record review and staff interview, the vendor did not ensure staff who work directly with children shall have obtained within 90 days of the date of hire a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. The training shall include an in- person competency demonstration.
Evidence: Center Director confirmed there was not documentation that Staff #5 (date of hire 3-21-2022) has current certification in CPR.Plan of Correction: Staff #5 has provided current CPR as of 1/2023. Course provided by National CPR Foundation. Plan of correction immediately

Evidence: Center Director confirmed that Staff #1 and Staff #3 did not have documentation for their 2022 annual health and safety update course.Plan of Correction: Staff #11 & Staff 33 will complete annual health & safety update course by the end of the month.
