8VAC20-790 Subsidy Regulations.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated conducted on May 1, 2023 from 8:00 A.M.-1:15 P.M. There were 47 children present with nine staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1 Description: Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that all staff were certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation within 90 days of hire.
Evidence:
1. Staff #9's date of hire was 11/30/2022. The CPR certification card was dated 03/11/2025. The certification was required by 03/02/2023.
2. Staff #2 verified the date of employment and the date on the certification card.Plan of Correction: Moving forward staff will be scheduled to have CPR certification scheduled by the 90th day of employment.
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-2 Description: Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that all staff were certified in first aid within 90 days of hire.
Evidence:
1. Staff #9's date of hire was 11/30/2022. The first aid certification card was dated 03/11/2025. The certification was required by 03/02/2023.
