8VAC20-790 Subsidy Regulations.

An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 5/4/23 from 10:35am to 3:05pm in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Six staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training, Health & Safety Update training, and current certification in First Aid and CPR. There are children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies and records were reviewed for allergy care plans. The last lockdown drill was documented on 12/20/22. Please complete the "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" areas on the Violation Notice for each violation cited and return to me by close of business on 5/15/23. Plans of correction should include steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard, and measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1 Description: Based on review of six staff records, the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children obtained certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care within 90 days of employment. Evidence: The CPR certificate on record for Staff #1, with an employment date of 7/18/22, was dated 11/7/22. Plan of Correction: CPR training scheduled for June.
