A monitoring inspection was conducted Tuesday, May 9, 2023. The licensing inspector was onsite, completing the inspection from approximately 1:00pm until 4:20pm. There were 41 children present, ranging in ages from five months to five years, with 9 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and medication. A total of five children's records and eleven staff members? records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observations, the center did not ensure all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevented access by children.
Evidence:
1. The door to the kitchen was propped open. Four cleaning substances were stored on a shelf underneath the sink.
2. The Data Closet door was unlocked. A paint container was in the unlocked closet.
3. Two adult bathrooms located in the hallways contained air fresheners. The air fresheners were not located in a locked area.
4. The containers contained verbiage ? Caution and Warning ? Keep out of the reach of children.Plan of Correction: Corrected while the inspector was on site.
