An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:37 am to 12:10 pm. There were 34 children directly supervised by 5 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 3 children?s records, were inspected. Children were observed participating in circle time with the learning about the letter Y and transition from handwashing to lunch. The children bring their own meals.
There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not maintain areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

1. In the Pre-K bathroom, there two protruding screws on the base of the toilet which need toilet caps.Plan of Correction: A ticket will placed in to facilities to get fix.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-H Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure cosmetics, medications, or other harmful agents were not be stored in areas, purses or pockets that are accessible to children.
Evidence:
1. In the Pre-K classroom, a purse was located on the floor in a closet that was not properly closed.Plan of Correction: A conversation with teachers in the classroom as a reminder to put purse of reach.
