An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 90 children with 14 staff were onsite today. All 8 classrooms were observed today. Staff were observed actively engaged with the children in both classrooms and outside on the playground. The children were observed preparing for lunch. Handwashing procedures and diapering procedures were observed. Staff were observed sitting with the children as they ate. Infants were repositioned within 30 minutes of one position and allowed tummy time in the Infant 1 class. The Intermediate A class discussed "Weekend News" as children discussed what they did over the weekend. In the PreK classroom, the children learned about parts of a flower, measurement of farm animals and had the book "The Bad Seed Book" read to them. Staff rotated positions in the classroom while the children ate to ensure supervision and assistance. A total of 7 children's records, 3 staff records and medication were reviewed. This inspection occurred between 10am and 1:30pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
