An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on May 9, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival, there were 30 children, ages 1-5, in the care of 4 staff.
The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Evidence:
1. Six staff records were reviewed.
2. Staff #6 did not have documentation of qualifying as a program lead.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-450-A Description: Based on observation, the center failed to have a top cover and a bottom cover or a one-piece covering which is open on three edges for one child.
Evidence:
1. Four classrooms were observed during naptime.
2. Classroom #1 had one child who did not have a bottom cover or a one piece covering which is open on three edges on his cot during naptime.
