A complaint was received in the licensing office on April 13, 2023 regarding staff and child ratios. On April 20, 2023 an on-site investigation was conducted. Interviews were conducted and observations were made.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-2 Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on staff interviews, review of attendance records and video recordings, it was determined that one classroom of children between the ages of 16 months to 2 years old, was operated beyond the allowable staff-to-child ratio of 1:5 on one occasion.
Evidence:
1.On April 10, 2023, there were two staff with 13 children in the Infant B classroom between approximately 9:10 am to 9:20 am.Plan of Correction: We adjusted the teacher schedule to ensure enough teachers are in the classroom during arrival. There are now 5 teachers assigned to the Infant program.
