As discussed, for those staff in lead teach positions, please maintain documentation of qualifications. If training is included in the credentials, please maintain the completed training in such a way that the required 24 hours of training that includes the topics of child development, health and safety, playground safety and prevention of child abuse and neglect is clear.
When staff have completed the 10 Preservice training prior to hire, please be sure that the certificates of completion are maintained in their records.

An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 67 children with 10 staff were present in the licensed area of the center. Some of the classrooms had transitioned to the outdoor playground and some children were observed inside classrooms in small circles listening as staff read a book to them. The toddlers on the toddler playground were enjoying the new sand in the sandbox. A total of 3 staff were outside with the toddlers and were strategically spaced on the playground to ensure adequate supervision. All children had returned to their classrooms and handwashing procedures were observed. The children were familiar with this routine before lunch. All medication was reviewed and found complete. A total of 5 staff records and records for 6 children that included medication authorizations and allergy action plans were reviewed. This inspection occurred between 10am and 1pm.
