An unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place on 05/31/2023 between the hours of approximately 8:05 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. There were 2 classrooms observed with a total of 50 children with 4 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed preparing to catch the bus to the upper elementary school, playing board games, reading, participating in a morning meeting and other organized activities. Positive interaction between staff and children were observed. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, and emergency procedures was conducted during this inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: There were five disinfectant sprays, one multi-purpose cleaning spray, one disinfectant laundry and air freshener and one germicidal spray in an unlocked cabinet under the sink in Room 1, accessible to children.Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
