Comments:
A monitoring inspection was completed from 10:40am until 12:20. There were 17 children present with two staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-L
Description: Based on observation, medications were not kept locked.
Evidence:
1. Medication (a prescription cream, and two inhalers) was being kept in a back pack that was not locked; the medication box was reported to be not operable.

Plan of Correction: The medication box will be fixed and or replaced if it is found to be inoperable.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-540-E
Description: Based on observation, emergency supplies were not available.
Evidence:
1. The center did not have a working flashlight or battery operated radio.

Plan of Correction: Batteries will be supplied for the flashlight and radio.
