An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director on May 22, 2023, beginning at 11:25am and ending at 12:45pm. There were 61 children, ages 16 months through 5 years old, in the care of 10 direct care staff. The children were observed playing with age-appropriate toys and playing on the playground. Five children?s records were reviewed and in compliance. Five staff records were reviewed and in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and battery-operated radio were observed and in compliance. There were no medications to be reviewed. The daily attendance and emergency drill log were reviewed. The most recent evacuation drill was documented as 4/26/2023. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as 12/29/2022.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, the facility staff did not ensure that all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: In room 1, there was an unlocked cabinet with a bottle of 409 cleaning spray, a bottle of glass cleaner, a bottle Sani-Spritz spray, Clorox cleaner, Febreeze, Lysol spray, and two bottles of cleaning spray. In room 4, there was an unlocked cabinet with a two bottles of Sani-Spritz spray, metal polish, wood polish, glass cleaner, Febreeze, and Lysol cleaner. Plan of Correction: Not available online.
