Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on February 23 2023 between 11:30am and 12:30pm. There were 34 children in the direct care of 5 staff members. Children were observed, playing on the playground, washing hands, and having snack. A review of new hire paperwork, children's records, staffing records, the preparedness plan, emergency drills, attendance, the first aid kit, medications, and the physical space was conducted. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4
Description: Based on record review, the center did not conduct an out of state central registry check for an employee that, within the last five years, lived in a state outside of Virginia.

Evidence: Staff #1 stated in a background check document that Staff #1 lived in another state within the last five years. Documentation of a central registry search from that state was no t available for review in the employee's record.

Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
