Technical Assistance given and licensing standards were reviewed regarding the areas of volunteer records and children's records.
- Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on June 20, 2023. The inspector arrived at 1:15pm and departed at approximately 2:20pm. There were 13 children, 2 volunteers, and 5 staff members present. A sample size of eight records were reviewed which included five children?s records and three staff records. The Inspector observed staff and children?s interactions throughout the inspection. Children were observed during bottle feeding and nap. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented. The violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the center and were reviewed with the site assistant director at the exit interview.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-570-B Description: Based on observation and interview, it was determined that the center did not ensure that bottles shall not be used while the child is in his designated sleeping location.
Evidence:
1. Two of the three infants had a bottle inside their cribs while they were in the process of napping.
2. Infant staff confirmed that there were bottles being used in their designated sleeping locations.Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: The infant teacher immediately removed the bottles from the cribs during the time of the inspection. The teacher was able to read the standard and will keep bottles away from the children's designated sleeping areas.
