Comments:
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The children were observed eating lunch, taking bathroom breaks, engaged in a movie, and at the start of nap time. The inspection started at 11am and concluded at 12:20pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. Violations are identified on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-F
Description: Based on a review of records, the licensee did not ensure that staff who work directly with children annually complete the health and safety update course.
Evidence: The director confirmed the records for two staff contained documentation of the most recent health and safety update course that was dated more than one year ago (Staff #1 5/26/2022; Staff #2 10/4/2021.

Plan of Correction: All staff will complete training by 6/30/2023
