An unannounced inspection was conducted on 6/8/23 from 10:30 am to 11:55pm. The inspection was initiated in response to a complaint related to center activities and the physical plant. 5 staff members were interviewed. Observations were made in classrooms and playground. Based on the preponderance of evidence, the complaint is not valid. Violations not related to the complaint are listed in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, equipment used in the center was not maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence: In the Dinosaur's classroom, a bin used for storing toys was found to have broken edges. The bin was on the floor where the children were playing.Plan of Correction: Corrected day of inspection - thrown out.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place and were accessible to children.
Evidence: A bottle of cleaning agent was found on the shelf at the entrance of the Dinosaur's classroom.Plan of Correction: Corrected on day of inspection-locked up.
