A monitoring inspection was conducted on June 26, 2023 from approximately 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM. There were 41 children present, ranging in ages from toddlers to school-age, with seven staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 10 child records and six staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction and the date to be corrected for each violation listed on the violation notice and return it to the department within 5 business days from receipt. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s); 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions documented in the allergy plan and the list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.
Evidence:
1. The allergy lists in room #1 and room #2 was posted without maintaining confidentiality.
2. The allergy list was dated 02/07/2022.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-P Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure that when an authorization for medication expires, the parent shall be notified that the medication needs to be picked up within 14 days or the parent must renew the authorization. Medications that are not picked up by the parent within 14 days will be disposed of by the center by either dissolving the medication down the sink or flushing it down the toilet.
Evidence:
