Discussed the mulch on the playground and reminded them to keep an eye on it around the fall zone areas. It may need to be raked after the rain.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 9:00 am-11:00am. At the time of entrance, 44 children were in care with 19 staff members present. Children were observed during snack time, washing hands, playing in centers, painting with forks, coloring with markers on a dry erase board, playing with small plastic animals, blocks and magnetic tiles, potty training, playing on the playground, playing with legos, and playing in the play gallery. The site was clean, organized and contained an abundant supply of developmentally appropriate materials. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, allergy action plans, evacuation drills, attendance records, injury reports, medications and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. There were no violations cited this date. Please contact me if you have any questions at Stacy.Doyle@doe.virginia.gov or 571-835-0386.
