An announced initial inspection was conducted today from 10:00am through 11:30am because the center did not submit a renewal application prior to the license expiring. There were no children present at the time of inspection. The physical plant, programming, menu, 2 staff records, 6 children?s records, emergency drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials for the children and the center was clean and organized. An adequate number of staff are trained in CPR/First Aid, daily health observation, and medication administration training. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on record review, the center did not ensure that all staff complete the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #1 (Date of Hire: 8/26/2019) did not have documentation on file of completing the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course.Plan of Correction: Will have staff retake the training.
