Technical Assistance:
Discussed the importance of ensuring all required documents are obtained and maintained in records for review.

Discussed the transitions from lunch to nap time and the need to have adequate lighting while children are eating.

Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring inspection was conducted today. A total of 47 children with 7 staff were onsite today. Observation of classrooms #3,4,5,6 and 7 was made. The children were busy singing the "Ladybug" song with staff in Class #3. After this activity they continued to engage in an interactive song with staff. They were observed transitioning to washing their hands and preparing for lunch. The children sat quietly in all six classrooms while they prepared to eat lunch. Both lunch brought from home and school lunch was observed. Cots were laid out for nap time with labeled linens for each child to identify each specific child's cot. Two medications onsite and were reviewed. The playground was provided with new mulch since the last inspection and the necessary changes with some equipment was verified. A total of 7 children's files and 5 staff files were reviewed. Previous violations from the last inspection were reviewed and corrections were verified. This inspection occurred between 10:30am and 2pm. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@doe.virginia with any questions.
