An investigation was initiated from 12:15 pm - 3:00 pm in response to a complaint received regarding supervision and staff-to-child ratios. Interviews were conducted, documentation, staff, and child records were reviewed. The portion of the complaint regarding staff-to child ratios is determined to be valid. There was not a preponderance of evidence to support the portion of the complaint regarding supervision, therefore the supervision portion of the complaint is deemed not valid.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-1 Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on interviews and review of attendance records it was determined that the staff-to-children ratio of one staff for every four children was not always followed. Evidence: On August 28, 2023 three staff were caring for more than 12 infants from 9:11 am - 9:45 am. At 9:45 am a fourth staff person arrived bringing the classroom back into the appropriate 1:4 staff-to-child ratio. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
