Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on September 25, 2023, from 9:30am-10:30am. At the time of entrance, (43 ) children were in care with (4 ) staff members present. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 5 staff records. Children were observed during the all day school age program finger weaving, computers, board games, cards and games in the gym. Medications were observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-E
Description: Based on a review of children medications and records, there is no medication authorization for one child's emergency medication.
Evidence: Child # 6 has an emergency medication, Albuterol on site, there is no medication authorization from the parent or physician to administer the medication.

Plan of Correction: The program will obtain the parent and physician authorization to administer this medication.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-I
Description: Based on a review of children medications and record, the child's medication does not have the prescription label in accordance with the prescribers instructions pertaining to dosage, frequency and manner of administration.
Evidence: Child #5 has an emergency medication on site that does not have the prescription label in accordance with the prescribers instructions pertaining to dosage, frequency and manner of administration.

Plan of Correction: The parent will bring in the box for the medication that has the pharmacy label.
