An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today at 12:00pm. There were 16 children directly supervised by 2 staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed eating lunch from home. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-E Description: Based on a review of medication and medication polices, the licensee did not ensure that the facility maintained compliance with the center's own policies and procedures.
Evidence:
Child 8 has an allergy plan in place for an allergic reaction that requires diphenhydramine. There was a medication authorization present to administer the medication, but the medication was not present in the center.Plan of Correction: The parent was contacted and brought the medication to the center later on the date of the inspection.

Child 4's record did not contain the second parent's address, phone number, or employer information; the address of one of the two listed emergency contact persons.Plan of Correction: We will ask the parent to provide the missing information.
