63.2 Child Abuse & Neglect

Comments:
An unannounced enforcement inspection was conducted on September 26, 2023, from 9:45am-11:15 am. The inspector inspected the physical plant of 5 classrooms, room # 4,6,7,8,9 no evidence of mice droppings. 2 staff records of staff no longer employed were reviewed. 2 staff records of current staff were reviewed and documentation of the 9/1/2023 child abuse and neglect trainings was viewed. Discussion was had with owner, Director and Assistant Director about staffing, storage of personal items in classroom, training and maintaining training records. One violation, not related to the enforcement watch inspection was cited during today?s classroom observations. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-570-B
Description: Based on observation, bottles were observed being used while an infant was in the designated sleeping location.
Evidence: The LI observed infant #1 in her crib with milk all over her face. The infant bottle of milk was laying in infant #1?s crib.

Plan of Correction: The infant and bottle were immediately removed from the crib. Management will review the feeding policies with the staff.
