An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:40am through 11:00am. There were 22 children directly supervised by 4 staff and both classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, outdoor playground area, programming, menus, 3 staff records, 1 volunteer's record, 5 children?s records, 1 medication, emergency drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed eating snacks brought from home, reading books, playing with musical instruments, making art using stamps, and participating in various independent activities including practicing addition with manipulatives and tracing shapes. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials for the children and the center was clean and organized. There was an adequate number of CPR/First Aid, Daily Health Observation, and MAT trained staff on site at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-80-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not maintain a written record of daily attendance with each group of children.
Evidence: There were 7 children present in the Transition classroom and there was no attendance.Plan of Correction: Will have teacher keep record in class. There is a record in the main office.
