Comments:
An unannounced focused inspection was conducted 9/27/2023 from 3:35pm through 4:15pm as the center is currently on a Conditional License. Off site staff file review was conducted on 10/11/2023 from 11:00am through 1:15pm. There were 10 children directly supervised by 2 staff. The physical plant, menu, 2 staff records, 5 children?s records, emergency drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were reportedly no medications on site. Children were observed participating in quiet table top activities. There was an adequate supply of age appropriate materials for the children and the center was clean and organized. One staff on site had current CPR/First Aid and MAT certification and both staff were current in Daily Health Observation Training. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-530-C
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure that there are at least two staff members with current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid certification on the premises during the center's hours of operation.

Evidence: Staff #1 was the only staff present at the time of inspection who had current CPR/First Aid certification. Staff #2 confirmed they haven't completed the hands on portion of the CPR/First Aid training.

Plan of Correction: CPR to be completed by Staff #2 on 10/14/23
