Technical assistance was offered related to the licensing renewal process, staff background checks and medications.
- Comments:

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 10/12/23 from 3:25 pm to 4:45 pm. There were 61 children with 8 staff. The children were observed arriving to the after school program, eating afternoon snack, playing outdoors and completing homework. Dismissal from the program was also observed. 4 children's records, 4 staff records, attendance, medications, emergency drills and other center documents were reviewed to assess compliance. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on records review and staff interview, the center did not obtain results of out of state central registry searches for an employee that has resided outside of Virginia in the last 5 years.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's record indicated that she resided in D.C. and Maryland within the last five years.
2. Results of the out of state central registry search were not obtained for Staff # 1 to this date.
3. Staff # 2 stated that she was unsure if the search was submitted.Plan of Correction: New searches will be submitted for Staff # 1 within 10 days and once the results are obtained, the licensing inspector will be notified.
