Technical Assistance:
Discussed medication requirements to include pharmacy labels, and double checking that premeasured Epinephrine doses are accurately documented on authorization forms.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:45am-10:45pm. There were 28 children directly supervised by 8 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating returning from chapel, washing hands, and preparing for a puppet show. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation, areas of the playground were not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
Landscape fabric was observed exposed on the playground over the rubber mulch under the slide. The exposed fabric poses a potential tripping hazard.

Plan of Correction: Immediately after the inspection the exposed fabric was trimmed.
