A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 10/25/2023.There were 53 children present with 9 staff supervising and 2 administrators. The children were observed during outside play time, teacher led classroom activities, and during lunch time. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 11 am and concluded at 12:45 pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.058 Description: Based on observation and staff interview the center did not ensure that each building that houses a child day program that is licensed, that serves preschool-age children, shall be equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-A Description: Based on record review and staff interview the center did not ensure that the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course shall be completed within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence: The director confirmed that staff #2 (date of hire 7/5/2022) did not have documentation of completing the DOE sponsored training.Plan of Correction: Obtain completion certificate
