An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 4:15 pm - 5:00 pm. There were 34 children in care being supervised by 4 staff. The children were observed participating in table-top activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of six child records and three staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-70 Description: Based on interviews and review of three staff records it was determined that not all staff had a record on file as required. Staff A who was a substitute at the facility did not have their staff record on site for review. Plan of Correction: Staff will have their record with them while substituting at other facilities.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-L Description: Based on interviews and review of three staff records it was determined that there was not at least one person on duty with current training of daily health observation training. Evidence: The three staff records reviewed for the staff on site did not have documentation that staff had obtained daily health observation training. Plan of Correction: Staff will obtain daily health observation training and at least one staff member on site will have received daily health observation training.
