Today an unannounced monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 1:30pm and 3:10pm. There were 5 classrooms observed with a total of 46 children with 8 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed eating an afternoon snack (graham crackers, orange slices and water), and playing freely. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Center management stated that there were no medications on-site. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT and DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice.

Evidence: The supplemental page from the facilities 5/31/2023 inspection which contains staff and children information and states "DO NOT POST" was observed posted at the facility with the inspection summary and violation notice.Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.

Evidence: There are two areas of peeling paint in the school age classroom.Plan of Correction: I'll report the peeling paint to maintenance.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A Description: Based on observation, hand washing requirements were not met.
Evidence: A child was observed having their diaper changed in the toddler classroom. The child did not get their hands washed after their diaper was changed. The teacher did not immediately wash their own hands after the diaper change.Plan of Correction: I will have them re-watch the hand washing training again.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-520-C Description: Based on observation, diaper ointment requirements were not met.
Evidence: Two diaper creams in the preschool classroom were not labeled with names to identify the owners.Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
