An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated on October 30, 2023 (11:12 am - 3:48pm) and completed on November 1, 2023 ( 9:45 am - 1:00 pm).
There were a total of 114 children in care with 18 teaching staff on October 30, 2023.
11 toddlers were observed with 3 teaching staff on November 1, 2023.
Children were observed during outdoor play, lunch and nap on October 30, 2023. The toddler classroom was reviewed during free play/transition to lunch on both October 30 and November 1, 2023.
Records were reviewed for six children in care and ten teaching staff.
Based on the information gathered one violation was found in the area of out-of-state background checks. This violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the facility and was reviewed at the conclusion of the inspection on November 1, 2023.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to obtain a copy of the results of a criminal history record information check and a search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.

1. Staff 1, hire date 08/03/2022, lacks an out-of-state criminal record check from one state of residence within the past five years.
