Technical Assistance:
Discussion of the fire inspection conducted on 10/30/2023. Administration informed the Licensing Inspection (LI) through an on-site telephone call (on the date of inspection) that this documentation will be emailed to him once it is received by the center.

Comments:
This renewal inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 11/02/2023, between the hours of 10:30 am to 2 pm. There were 83 children present, ranging from infant to preschool-age, with 18 staff supervising; across 7 separate classrooms. The children were engaged in the following: song, dance, outside play, art, puzzles, numbers, learning, play doh, a counting project, bathroom breaks, diapering, hand washing, lunch, nap time, and other organized activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 7 children records, and 9 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined that there were (2) non-compliances with the applicable standards. These violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A
Description: Based on review, 2 of 7 children files indicated that not all of the required information was contained within each record.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (11/02/2023), documentation of the proof of identification for Child #1 and Child #4 were not available for review.
2. The start date for Child #1 was listed as 07/17/23. The start date for Child #4 was listed as 10/18/2023.

Plan of Correction: Missing information will be obtained, reviewed, and documented for both files.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation, areas inside the center was not maintained in a safe condition.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (11/02/2023), 2 windows (1 in the Pre-School II room, the other within the Pre-School III room) showed signs of chipped paint.
2. A window within the Pre-K room had a cracked pane that was on the inside surface to the classroom. Other windows on the upper floor of the center also showed visible cracks. However, all other windows either had protective plexiglass covers or the cracks were on the outside surface.

Plan of Correction: Repairs will be made to these areas.
