A monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/27/2023 with the center director and staff. There were 20 school age children present, with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-A Description: Based on review of three staff files, the facility failed to have staff complete the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course (VA Pre-service) within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff 1 (date of employment 1/09/2023) did not complete the VA Dept of Education sponsored orientation course until 8/15/2023. Plan of Correction: Staff will be required to complete the 10 hour training within 90 days of employment.
