Technical Assistance:
Discussion with the Center Director that a REPORT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION INSPECTION (as Requested by VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION and authorized by Title 22.1 Code of Virginia) will need to be submitted. This inspection is conducted by the Health Department and is now required during the renewal process.

The CDC renewal application and associated documentation has been received by VDOE through our online portal.

Discussion of the following topics: the online IROMT report in case of outside medical attention for an accident the occurred at the center; allergy medication, along with allergy list; and the annual training versus the 24 hours needed to promote an aide to a lead are no longer separate but counted as the same.

Comments:
This renewal inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 11/09/2023, between the hours of 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. There were 42 children present, ranging from infant to preschool-age, with 10 staff supervising, across 8 separate classrooms. The children were engaged in the following: art, games, music, song, diaper changing, bathroom breaks, hand washing, large motor skills outside on playground, lunch, naptime, and other organized activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 8 children records, and 13 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined that there were (2) non-compliances with the applicable standards. These violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.
