An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the afterschool SACC program. SACC uses 2 classroom. Forty eight children were in the AS program with 5 staff. Observed children washing hands and eating snack (chips and salsa, water and apples, free play with Legos, reading, friendship bracelets art project and games. A group also went to the gym for an active game. Reviewed emergency preparation, staff trainings, medications and a sample of children's records. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Please be aware that the plan of correction must be provided within 5 days of receipt of the inspection notes if you want it displayed on the website. Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance.

Office of Child Care Health and Safety Division of School Readiness

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8
Description: Based on record review, the written allergy plan was not accurate as the steps to be taken can not be completed by the staff as medication was missing.
Child #1 and Child #3 both have written allergy care plans that call for emergency medication to be administered in case of an allergic reaction/exposure but no medication was on-site.

Plan of Correction: A conversation with parents will be had at pickup to either bring in the medication or update the written allergy care plans for both children.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.
