Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed from 1:15 until 2:50. There were 22 children and 6 staff supervising. The cook and family advocate were also present.

The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 staff records and 5 children?s records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violation were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M
Description: Based on observation, one of the areas did not have a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions documented in the allergy plan required in 8VAC20-780-60 A 8. This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.
Evidence:
1. One of the classrooms did not have the required listing for an allergy. .

Plan of Correction: An allergy list was posted during the inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-B
Description: Based on observation, the center was using portable heaters.
Evidence:
1. There were two portable heaters plugged in at the office. Portable heaters are only allowed during emergencies.

Plan of Correction: The heaters were unplugged during the inspection.
