Today an unannounced renewal inspection took place between the hours of 10:50am and 2:00pm. There were 6 classrooms observed with a total of 72 children with 11 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed playing freely, transition from the playground to indoors, washing hands before eating lunch and transitioning to naptime. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, medications and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-580-B Description: Based on observation and interview, the center did not ensure that vehicles used for the transportation of children meet the safety standards set by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Evidence: Two our of three of the centers vehicles used for transporting children to and from the public schools inspection expired in August 2023.
