An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 10:25 am to 11:50 am. There were 24 children with 5 staff supervising. The children were observed playing outdoors, preparing for lunch, watching cartoons, and circle time. 2 staff records, 3 children's records, emergency drill records and other center documents were reviewed to assess compliance. There were no medications on site. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Evidence: Staff # 1's first day of employment was 8/23/23. There was no documentation on file to show that Staff # 1's reference checks were completed.Plan of Correction: Reference checks will be completed and kept in employee file.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-F Description: Based on record review the center did not practice lockdown procedures annually.
Evidence: The emergency drill records showed that the date of the most recent lockdown drill was 10/21/22.Plan of Correction: Lockdown drills will be done annually.
