Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on November 16, 2023. There were nine children in care with two staff. Children present ranged in age from three to five years old. Children records and staff emergency contact information were reviewed. Children were observed in teacher and self directed activities including transitions, music and movement, table top tasks and restroom routines. First aid kit, emergency supplies, required postings, fire and health inspections and medications were reviewed. A single violation regarding carbon monoxide detector was observed, discussed with the staff onsite and appears on the violation notice.

Standard #: 22.1-289.058
Description: Based on observation and interview the center failed to ensure that the building is equipped with a carbon monoxide detector.
Evidence:
1 - There is not a carbon monoxide detector in the licensed preschool building.
2 - Staff #1 confirmed that there is not a carbon monoxide detector in the building.
