An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated onsite on November 30, 2023 and conclude December 4, 2023 . There were 86 children in care ages five months through five years old with 18 staff. Children and staff records were reviewed. A walking tour of the facility inside and outside was completed. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities including inside learning center play, outside play, transitions, restroom routines and diaper changes. Additionally, first aid kit, emergency equipment, insurance documentation, emergency evacuation logs, medication and required postings were reviewed. Violations regarding handwashing, and medication were observed, discussed with the center director during the exit interview and appear on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A Description: Based on observation and interview the center failed to ensure staff wash their hands with soap and running water after any contact with body fluids.
Evidence:
1 - Staff #1 did not was her hands after and between wiping the noses of three children.
2 - Staff #1 stated that she wiped the noses of three children and confirmed that she did not wash her hands after or between each wiping each child's nose.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
